Unofficial Clan MacAlpine Crest Badge
This "Clan MacAlpine Crest Badge" is taken from "Fairbairn's book of Crests." As no MacAlpine Chiefly Arms, of which the crest would be a part, have ever been recorded in the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland by the Court of the Lord Lyon, this crest badge is regarded as "fictitious" by the Court. The Lyon Court has advised us that it is not appropriate to promote the use of this crest as a Clan MacAlpine "Strap and Buckle" Crest Badge and, therefore, we strongly recommend that our Clansmen avoid its use as such. The inscription (which uses an acceptable alternate spelling of the word "cuimhnich") means "Remember the Death of Alpin."
